Professor (Mrs) Omowunmi Sola Agboola, a dedicated member of the Mordecai Care Foundation of Nigeria and a prominent figure in the field of Science Education at the Institute of Education, Faculty of Education, Obafemi Awolowo University in Ile-Ife. With a strong commitment to empowering women, she places a special emphasis on environmental and STEM education. From August 1, 2021, to July 31, 2023, she took on the role of Acting Director at the Institute of Education, where her leadership played a crucial role in advancing the Institute, Faculty, and University. At the university level, she is recognized as a Fellow of the Centre for Gender and Social Policy Studies (CGSPS) at Obafemi Awolowo University. On a national scale, Professor Agboola made her mark as the first President of the Integrated Science Educators Association of Nigeria. She has also been an External Examiner for postgraduate theses at various universities and continues to serve as an External Assessor for appointments to readership and professorial positions in esteemed institutions. Her academic contributions are impressive, as she has been a reviewer and editorial board member for numerous national and international journals. Proudly affiliated with respected professional organizations both locally and globally, she is a versatile researcher who has authored and co-authored many scholarly articles in well-regarded journals. Additionally, she actively engages in conferences, workshops, training sessions, and seminars at various levels. Outside of her academic pursuits, Professor Agboola is a compassionate humanitarian and changemaker, dedicated to uplifting the less privileged. She enjoys a fulfilling family life, being happily married with children, and in her free time, she loves to sing.
